NORTHERN & SHELL FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS 2010
The Northern & Shell Media Group has developed into a major force in the UK media landscape with a significant international presence. The Group has a strong balance sheet with a healthy cash position and a growing portfolio of media assets. In 2010, the Group's television operations were transformed in scale by the acquisition of the public service broadcaster, Channel 5. Investment continues to be made in the newspaper business with the commissioning of a major state of the art print plant expected to be operational towards the end of 2011. In magazine publishing the Northern & Shell titles have consolidated their position in their respective markets. The Group continues to be well placed to pursue opportunities as they arise.
